The ZESCO United FC logo directly reflects the identity and corporate heritage of its parent organization, ZESCO, an acronym for Zambia Electricity Supply Corporation. The emblem is based on a white shield edged in orange, white, and green, incorporating the corporate logo of ZESCO. At the center of the corporate logo is an orange vertical diamond containing a stylized lightning-bolt-like letter "Z", representing electricity and energy. Beneath it is the large green name "ZESCO", followed by the slogan "Powering the Nation". Below the shield is a white ribbon outlined in green bearing the team name "ZESCO UNITED FOOTBALL CLUB", with a large black-and-white football positioned at the center of the ribbon. The club was founded in 1974 by employees of the Zambia Electricity Supply Corporation, and the badge's extensive use of the utility company's imagery, colors, and branding directly reflects this corporate origin. The stylized "Z" and lightning-like form symbolize electrical power, while the slogan "Powering the Nation" conveys both the literal role of ZESCO in supplying electricity to Zambia and the broader idea of empowering communities and sports supporters through football. Green, orange, and white form the dominant colors of the emblem and correspond to the corporate identity of ZESCO Limited, with green conveying vitality and growth and orange reinforcing energy and dynamism. The football in the lower ribbon provides a clear representation of the club's sporting identity, while the shield gives the emblem a strong and unified appearance. Together, the ZESCO corporate logo, lightning-like "Z", "Powering the Nation" slogan, football, and distinctive green-and-orange palette connect ZESCO United FC with its parent utility company, Zambia's energy infrastructure, and the club's origins among electricity workers in Ndola.
