The waving flag of the Colorado Avalanche (Animated GIF)

The Colorado Avalanche (popularly known as the Avs) is a professional ice hockey team based in Denver, Colorado, USA, and they compete in the National Hockey League (NHL) as a member of the Central Division in the Western Conference. This unofficial Colorado Avalanche flag consists of the team's official logo and a claret red background derived from the logo. The logo reflects the desire to reach the pinnacle of the sport and belong in hockey. It depicts an avalanche caused by a hockey puck falling from a mountain pictured with the letter "A".
