Flag of Malaysia (GIF)

The Malaysian flag consists of 14 alternative red and white lines along its right edge and a blue canton carrying the crescent and the 14-pointed Federal Star. The red-white stripes represent equality between the members of the federation, and the star represents the union between them. The crescent represents Islam, the country's state religion. The blue color symbolizes the unity of the Malaysian people. And the yellow color of the star and the crescent is also the royal color of the Malay rulers. The height-to-width ratio in the flag is 1:2, and the current version of the flag was adopted on September 16, 1963.

The shield in its coat of arms has colors and symbols representing the states united under the federation of Malaysia. The shield is supported by two tigers, symbolizing strength and courage.

The Malaysia flag is waving on a flagpole rising from the world globe.
