Flag of Lombardy (GIF)



The flag of Lombardy (Italian: Bandiera della Lombardia) consists of a green field with a kind of white cross in the middle known as "Rosa Camuna." The rose camuna symbolizes light, and the green color represents the Po Valley. The height-to-width ratio in the flag is 2:3, and the flag was adopted on June 12, 1975. Lombardy is one of the twenty administrative regions of Italy, in the northwest of the country. Its capital is Milan; its population is approximately 10.06 million (2019); and its area is 23,864 km².
