Saint Helena, Ascension and Tristan da Cunha is a British Overseas Territory in the South Atlantic, consisting of the island of Saint Helena, Ascension Island, and the archipelago of Tristan da Cunha. The United Kingdom flag is used for all official purposes throughout the territory. However, each of the three islands also has its own flag for official use. All three flags consist of a blue ensign with the Union Jack in the canton and the island's own coat of arms on the right side. The presence of the Union Jack in the canton of the Blue Ensign signifies the maritime affiliation of British Overseas Territories and Crown Dependencies with the United Kingdom and its historical and constitutional ties to the British Crown.

The coat of arms of Saint Helena is composed of a shield divided into two parts, with the upper portion featuring the national bird, the Saint Helena plover, known as the wirebird locally.
