Molise Flag GIF (Bandiera Molisana)
The flag of Molise (Italian: Bandiera del Molise) consists of a blue field with the coat of arms of Molise in the middle and the words "REGIONE MOLISE" in yellow under the coat of arms. The shield-shaped coat of arms contains an eight-pointed star in the canton and a diagonal white stripe. Since the region entered the Kingdom of Naples, the star has been the symbol of Molise since 1608. The height-to-width ratio in the flag is 2:3, and the current version of the flag was adopted in 1995. Molise is a region in southern Italy. Its capital is Campobasso; its population is approximately 305,617 (2019); and its area is 4,461 km².
