Piedmont Flag GIF (Bandiera del Piemonte)



The Piedmont flag (Italian: Bandiera del Piemonte) is a red field surrounded by a dark blue border with a white cross and a blue heraldic label. The flag of Piedmont mainly consists of the coat of arms of the Prince of Piedmont, the eldest son of the King of Sardinia. The height-to-width ratio in the flag is 1:2, and the flag was adopted on November 24, 1995. Piedmont is a region in northwest Italy, one of the 20 regions of the country. Its capital is Turin; its population is about 4.356 million (2019); and its area is 25,387 km².
