The flag of Liechtenstein (German: Flagge Liechtensteins) consists of a gold-colored crown in the canton and two horizontal bands of dark blue and red. While the blue color represents the sky, the red color refers to the evening fire burning in homes across the country. Also, the crown symbolizes the unity of the people and their princes. The height-to-width ratio in the flag is 3:5, and the flag was adopted on June 30, 1982.
The shield in its coat of arms shows the different regions and families to which it is connected. The shield is surrounded by an ermine-lined purple mantle with gold tassels, and a princely hat is at the top.
