The flag of Haiti (French: drapeau d'Haïti, Haitian Creole: drapo Ayiti) is a two-color flag consisting of two horizontal bands of blue and red with a national coat of arms in a small white rectangle in the center. The blue color represents loyalty, perseverance, and justice, and the red color symbolizes hardiness, bravery, and strength. The height-to-width ratio in the flag is 3:5, and the flag was adopted on February 26, 1986.
Its coat of arms includes a Phrygian cap symbolizing freedom on a palm tree and cannons, cannonballs, bayonets, rifles, spears, flags, pennants, axes, ship anchors, bugles, and a drum, symbolizing their readiness to defend freedom and independence on a grassy hill.
