The emblem represents the diversity and unity of the country. Blue represents peace; the star represents diversity and unity; and the rays of the sun represent prosperity. Of the colors on the bands, green symbolizes the land, yellow symbolizes peace and hope, and red symbolizes strength. The height-to-width ratio in the flag is 1:2, and the flag was adopted on May 16, 2009.
