Olive branches and white express peace between Turks and Greeks. The height-to-width ratio in the flag is 2:3, and the flag was adopted on April 24, 2006.
Its coat of arms includes a copper shield between two olive branches, symbolizing the country's copper ores and a white dove holding an olive branch in its beak, symbolizing peace.
