The flag of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (Turkish: Kuzey Kıbrıs Türk Cumhuriyeti (KKTC) Bayrağı; Greek: Σημαία της Τουρκικής Δημοκρατίας της Βόρειας Κύπρου) is based on the flag of Turkey with reversed colors and two horizontal red stripes added at the top and bottom. It has a red crescent and a star between two horizontal red stripes on a white field. The height-to-width ratio in the flag is 2:3, and the flag was adopted on March 7, 1984.
Its coat of arms includes a white dove holding an olive branch in its beak, symbolizing peace, on a yellow shield, and a crescent and star referring to the Republic of Turkey.
