The flag of Curaçao (Dutch: Vlag van Curaçao) consists of a blue field with a horizontal yellow stripe slightly below the center and two white five-pointed stars in the canton. Blue symbolizes the sea and sky (lower and upper blue segments, respectively), divided by a yellow stripe representing the bright sun. The two stars represent the islands of Curaçao and Klein Curaçao, and the five points on each star symbolize the five continents from which the Curaçao people descended. The height-to-width ratio in the flag is 2:3, and the flag was adopted on July 2, 1984.
Curaçao is an island in the southern Caribbean Sea and a constituent country of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. Its capital is Willemstad, and its population is about 152,369 (2021).
