The flag of Western Sahara (Arabic: علم الصحراء الغربية; Spanish: La bandera del Sáhara Occidental) consists of three black, white, and green horizontal lines with a red crescent and star in the middle of the white stripe and a red triangle on the left. The flag is a combination of pan-Arabic colors, and the star and crescent are symbols of Islam. The height-to-width ratio in the flag is 1:2, and the flag was adopted on February 27, 1976.
Its coat of arms includes crossed rifles with national flags at the ends and olive branches surrounding them. An Arabic slogan meaning "Liberty, Democracy, Unity" is written at the bottom.
