Karakalpakstan Flag GIF (Qoraqalpog'iston bayrog'i)

The flag of Karakalpakstan (Uzbek: Qoraqalpog'iston bayrog'i) consists of three horizontal stripes of blue, yellow, and green, separated by white and red borders. To the left of the upper blue stripe are a white crescent moon and five white five-pointed stars. The color blue symbolizes water and spring. The yellow color indicates that most of Karakalpakstan consists of deserts. The color green is a sign of renewal of nature, spirituality, trust, and the sun. The crescent is a sacred symbol for Muslims and represents Islam. Five stars are symbols of life and trust in the five most ancient cities of Karakalpakstan. The height-to-width ratio in the flag is 1:2, and the flag was adopted on December 14, 1992.

Karakalpakstan is an autonomous republic of Uzbekistan that covers the entire northwest of Uzbekistan. Its capital is Nukus, and its population is about 1.948 million (2022).
