Flag of Idaho (GIF)
The Idaho flag consists of a state seal in a dark blue area with the words "State of Idaho" in gold letters on a band under the seal. The seal on the flag depicts a miner and a woman, symbolizing equality, freedom, and justice. The symbols on the seal also represent the natural resources of Idaho: mines, forests, farmland, and wildlife. The height-to-width ratio of the flag is 26:33, and the flag was adopted on November 2, 1957. Idaho is a state in the northwestern region of the United States. Its capital is Boise; its population is about 1.901 million (2021); and its area is 83,569 mi².
