Flag of Wisconsin (GIF)



The Wisconsin flag is a blue flag with a central coat of arms. The badger at the top of the shield is considered a state animal. The state shield in the emblem represents agriculture, mining, production, and seafaring and is supported by a sailor and a miner, representing water and soil work, respectively. The horn-shaped ornament symbolizes prosperity and abundance, and the 13 lead ingots represent the wealth of minerals and the 13 original founding states. The height-to-width ratio in the flag is 2:3, and the flag was adopted on May 1, 1981.

Wisconsin is a US state located in the north-central United States. Its capital is Madison, and its largest city is Milwaukee; its population is about 5.896 million (2021), and its area is 65,496 mi².
