Flag of Bulgaria (GIF)

The Bulgarian flag is a tri-colored flag consisting of three equal-sized horizontal bands: white (top), green, and red. The white color symbolizes peace and love, the green color means freedom and agricultural wealth, and the red color represents the blood of patriots spilled in the struggle for freedom. The height-to-width ratio in the flag is 3:5, and the flag was adopted in 1879.

In the national coat of arms, the shield with a crowned golden lion is supported by two lions standing on oak branches, and on it is the historical Bulgarian crown.

The Bulgaria flag is waving on a flagpole rising from the world globe.
