The flag of Eswatini (Swazi: Umjeka weSwatini) consists of five horizontal stripes of varying heights: blue, yellow, red, yellow, and blue; in the middle of which are a Swazi shield, a feathered fighting stick, and two spears. The red color represents past wars; the blue color symbolizes peace and stability; and the yellow color represents Swaziland's resources. The Nguni shield and two spears symbolize the country's protection from its enemies. The color of the shield is to show that white and black people live in peace in Swaziland. The height-to-width ratio in the flag is 2:3, and the flag was adopted on October 6, 1968.
The lion in its coat of arms represents the King of Eswatini, and the elephant represents the Queen mother. There is a feathered crown on the shield and a slogan meaning "We are the fortress" below.
