Tonga Flag GIF (Fuka ʻo Tonga)

The flag of Tonga (Tongan: Fuka ʻo Tonga) consists of a red field with a thick red equilateral cross in a white canton in the upper left corner of the flag. The cross symbolizes Christianity. While the white color represents purity, the red color refers to the spilled blood of Jesus during the Crucifixion. The height-to-width ratio in the flag is 1:2, and the flag was adopted on November 4, 1875.

Its coat of arms includes three white stars representing the three island groups in the kingdom; a crown representing the king; a white dove symbolizing peace, unity, and Christianity; and three swords symbolizing the Three Kingdoms dynasties. The strip below reads a slogan meaning "From God and Tonga I descend".

The Tongan flag is waving on a flagpole rising from the globe.
