The flag of Yemen (Arabic: علم اليمن) is a three-color flag consisting of three equal horizontal stripes: red, white, and black. According to the official statement, the red color represents unity and the blood of the martyrs, the white color represents a bright future, and the black color symbolizes the dark past. The height-to-width ratio in the flag is 2:3, and the flag was adopted on May 22, 1990.

In its coat of arms, the shield on the chest of the golden Saladin eagle shows a coffee plant over the Marib Dam, and the eagle carries a scroll with the Arabic country name in its claws.
