The flag of Sweden (Swedish: Sveriges flagga) consists of a yellow cross in the blue area that extends to the edge of the flag. The Nordic Cross design traditionally represents Christianity. The colors are thought to have been taken from the Swedish coat of arms in 1442. The height-to-width ratio in the flag is 5:8, and the flag was adopted on June 22, 1906.
Its coat of arms consists of a head shield azure, quartered by a cross, and an inescutcheon containing the dynastic arms of the Royal House. The shield contains three crowns in the first and fourth parts and crowned lions in the second and third parts. There is a royal crown on the shield, and the shield is supported by two crowned lions. And all these are surrounded by a royal ermine mantle.
