It consists of three white, blue, and red-colored bands with a national coat of arms on the left side of the center. The colors of the flag represent Slavic unity and independence. On the red shield of its coat of arms, there is a white double cross, symbolizing Christianity, and three dark blue hills, symbolizing the Tatra, Fatra, and Matra mountain ranges.
