The flag of Guernsey (French: Drapeau de Guernesey) is composed of a golden Norman cross on a red Saint George's cross on a white field. The golden cross represents the Duke of Normandy, William. The height-to-width ratio in the flag is 2:3, and the flag was adopted on April 30, 1985. Guernsey is a self-governing British Crown dependency and an island located on the Normandy coast of the British Channel. Its capital is Saint Peter Port; its population is approximately 62,792 (2019); and its area is 65 km².
