South Australia Flag GIF
The flag of South Australia is based on the defaced British Blue Ensign, with a state badge located on the right. The badge is a yellow disc featuring a piping shrike bird with its outstretched wings. The bird's stylization is thought to have been inspired by the German Imperial heraldic eagle. In addition, official sources state that the yellow disk symbolizes the rising sun. The height-to-width ratio in the flag is 1:2, and the flag was adopted in 1904. South Australia is a state in the southern, central part of Australia. Its capital is Adelaide; its population is approximately 1.771 million (2020); and its area is 978,810 km².
