The flag of Saskatchewan (French: Drapeau de la Saskatchewan) is characterized by two horizontal stripes, one green and one yellow. It features the shield from the coat of arms of Saskatchewan in the canton, while the floral emblem, the western red lily, adorns the fly side. The yellow stripe symbolizes the vast grain fields in the southern region of the province, while the green stripe represents the northern forested areas. The inclusion of the western red lily, the provincial flower, pays homage to Saskatchewan's natural beauty and flora. The shield includes a lion passant, representing the royal symbol of England, in the upper yellow section, while the lower green field is adorned with three gold sheaves of wheat, signifying the province's strong agricultural heritage. Together, these elements on the flag capture the essence of Saskatchewan's identity, showcasing its picturesque landscapes, thriving agriculture, cultural significance, and ties to England.
