Alberta Flag GIF (Drapeau de l'Alberta)



The Alberta flag (French: Drapeau de l'Alberta) consists of a coat of arms centered on a blue background. The coat of arms contains symbols that reflect Alberta's British heritage, along with local symbols. In the upper part of the shield is the red cross of Saint George. At the bottom of the shield are the Rocky Mountains, grass meadows, and wheat fields, which represent the landscape of Alberta. The height-to-width ratio in the flag is 1:2, and the flag was adopted on June 1, 1968.

Alberta is a western province of Canada. Its capital city is Edmonton, and its largest city is Calgary; its population is about 4.371 million (2019), and its area is 661,848 km².
