Flag of Burgenland (GIF)



The flag of Burgenland (German: Flagge von Burgenland) consists of two horizontal red and gold bands with the coat of arms of Burgenland in the center. Its coat of arms consists of a red eagle with a crown on its head and two crosses on its wings on a yellow shield. The height-to-width ratio of the flag is 2:3, and the flag was adopted in 1922. Burgenland is the easternmost and most populous state in Austria. Its capital is Eisenstadt; its population is approximately 293,433 (2019); and its area is 3,965 km².
