Flag of Tyrol (GIF)



The Tyrol flag (German: Flagge von Tirol) consists of two horizontal white and red bands with a centered Tyrol coat of arms. The coat of arms shows a red eagle with a golden crown on a silver shield. There is also a golden clover under the eagle's wings and a green wreath behind its head. The height-to-width ratio in the flag is 3:5, and the flag was adopted on March 10, 1949. Tyrol is a federal state in western Austria. Its capital is Innsbruck; its population is approximately 754,705 (2019); and its area is 12,648 km².
