Upper Austria Flag GIF (Oberösterreichische Flagge)



The Upper Austria flag (German: Flagge von Oberösterreich) consists of two horizontal white and red bands with the central coat of arms of Upper Austria. The two-part shield-shaped coat of arms has a golden eagle on a black background to the left and four red-and-white vertical stripes on the right. There is also an ornate crown on top of the shield. The height-to-width ratio in the flag is 2:3, and the flag was adopted on April 25, 1949. Upper Austria is one of the nine Austrian states. Its capital is Linz; its population is approximately 1.482 million (2019); and its area is 11,982 km².
