Flag of Salzburg (GIF)



The flag of Salzburg (German: Flagge von Salzburg) consists of two red and white horizontal bands with the coat of arms of Salzburg in the center. The shield-shaped coat of arms of Salzburg is divided vertically into two parts. On the left, there is a black lion on a yellow background, and on the right, there is a silver horizontal band on a red field. There is also a prince's crown on top of the shield. The height-to-width ratio in the flag is 2:3, and the flag was adopted on February 16, 1921. Salzburg is a state in Austria. Its capital is Salzburg; its population is approximately 555,221 (2019); and its area is 7,154 km².
