Flag of the United States Virgin Islands (GIF)

The United States Virgin Islands is a group of islands in the Caribbean, an insular region of the United States located 40 miles east of Puerto Rico. Its population is approximately 110,000 and its area is 133.73 mi². The US Virgin Islands flag consists of a large coat of arms of the United States between the letters V and I, which stands for the Virgin Islands. The yellow eagle holds three arrows and a bay stalk in its claws. The height-to-width ratio in the flag is 2:3, and the flag was adopted on May 17, 1921.
