The civil flag of Saxony (German: Landesflagge) |
Saxony's civil and state flags (German: Flagge Sachsens) consist of two horizontal white and green stripes. However, there is a coat of arms in the middle of the state flag. The height-to-width ratios for both flags are 3:5. While the civilian flag was adopted in 1920, the state flag was adopted in 1991. Saxony is a federal state of Germany. Its capital is Dresden; its population is approximately 4.078 million (2019); and its area is 18,416 km².
